We are a small family owned business which means instead of going through one operator after another trying to find that one specific person you were just working with, you get direct access to the person not only taking your orders (whether it is by fax, phone or internet)  but to the person who will be processing that order the SAME DAY!

So

Now that you know you need a Lien Sale, how do you figure out which TYPE of Lien Sale is the one for you?

Disposal (Very Short Less then $500)

This Lien is for vehicles that have been determined by a Law Enforcement Agency as being worth less than $500 in its Current Condition.  These take approximately 15 days to clear and can only be sold to Auto Salvage Yard or Scrap Iron Dealer because they  must not be registered within the State of California.

Short (Less than $4,000)

This Lien is for vehicles that have been determined as being worth less than $4000 in its Current Condition.  These take approximately 31 days to clear.

Long (Over $4,000)

This Lien is for vehicles that have been determined as being worth more than $4000 in its Current Condition

Note:  For Self-Storage Facilities, this is the only Lien Type available to you regardless of vehicle value.

This Lien can take anywhere from 60 to 90 days to clear due to the fact that a written authorization from the DMV is required before a sale date can be established.  Long Liens also require an ad be placed in your county's newspaper.  Western Auto Clearance will take care of this for you with no  additional charge.

 Vessels

              Boats are a little different.

A Short Lien for a vessel is when the boat is determined to be worth less than $1500.  HOWEVER, you must provide either a Police 180 or a written appraisal from a licensed Boat Appraiser to prove the value.  These Liens take approximately 41 days to clear.

A Long Lien for a vessel is when the boat is determined to be worth more than $1500 or you are unable to provide evidence to contrast this statement and the process is the same as with vehicles.

NOTE:  If the boat has a trailer attached to it, it is processed with the vessel as one entity; you do not need a separate Lien Sale for it.
